The False Hope of Endless Growth

2024.Page1.Banner.jpg

It has been said that "false hopes are more dangerous than fears" (J.R.R. Tolkien). The hope of endless population and economic growth is false and very dangerous for the human species. We seem to be marching toward social and ecological collapse worldwide, collectively blind to the impossibility of infinite growth in a finite planet. It is time for political leaders, business executives, and common citizens to wake up and face reality; it is time to seek population and consumption reduction in a manner that is socially fair and to a level that is ecologically sustainable.
